SAVANNAH
Meet Savannah
Savannah Coffey, MA, LMFT, joins Beacon Psychotherapy in Charleston, bringing her wealth of experience and a genuine passion for helping individuals and couples navigate life's challenges.
Born and raised in Wilmington, NC, Savannah’s pursuit of higher education began with a BA in Biology and Communications from UNC Chapel Hill. Her curiosity about people's stories led her to pursue a Minor in Sexuality Studies, setting the stage for a career dedicated to understanding and improving human connections.
Savannah earned her MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Appalachian State University in 2019, along with a Certificate in Systemic Multicultural Counseling. During her graduate studies, she gained invaluable experience through an internship in a Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program, where she honed her skills in handling complex emotional and psychological struggles.
Her professional journey took her to Boston, where from 2020 to 2022, she provided in-home therapy for at-risk youth and served a Community Mental Health Center supporting underserved populations. From there, she moved to San Antonio, where she focused on private practice couples counseling before making her way to us here in the lowcountry.
Joining the Beacon Psychotherapy team in 2024, Savannah holds licenses as an LMFT in both Texas and South Carolina. She is Gottman Level 1 and 2 trained, offers discernment counseling and specializes in infidelity/affair recovery.
With a niche helping couples with communication issues, intimacy concerns, and recovery from infidelity, her passion is working with partners to explore the dynamics and patterns within their relationship that cause hurt and disconnect in an effort to repair those cycles for emotional, relational, and sexual health.
Additionally, she enjoys working with clients struggling with sleep disorders, anxiety, and relationship transitions.
Bringing her big brain and big heart to us here at Beacon Psychotherapy, Savannah draws on her walk as a military wife with its changing-on-a-dime demands, difficult deployments, and being forced to find new community every couple years. As a mom to a three-year-old, she will also relate to Bluey on repeat, non-existent sleep patterns and being on a first-name basis with urgent care doctors due to the latest round of daycare crud.
Savannah’s approach to therapy is honest, direct, and future-focused. She believes in giving straightforward feedback and is committed to helping clients identify and live by their values. Her mission at Beacon Psychotherapy is to ensure that each client feels heard and empowered to make decisions aligned with their values. Her goal is for you to leave therapy feeling seen, understood and equipped to boldly go towards your best future.

When she's not mastering new recipes from Half Baked Harvest and Broma Bakery, you may find Savannah soaking up the sunshine, in savasana, cycling her way to China, or hunting for hidden gems among our local stores and restaurants.
